Visiontek 8GB PC3-12800 CL9 1600 EX DDR3

Testing was done with the following test setup

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K 3,3GHz
Motherboard: Asus P8P64 PRO Rev 3.1
RAM: Patriot 4GB DDR3
HDD: Patriot TorqX 2 128GB SSD
Videocard:  Asus 9800GT

Testing was done with the following software:

Aida64 Extreme

We tested this ram vs the Patriot 4GB PC3-19200 2400MHz DDR3 that we reviewed a while back.

So in the test charts we have a “overclocked” section and those results are archieved by boosting the ram.

We ran it at 1900 Freq from its stock 1600, but to do this we had to drop the timings from stock down to 10-10-10-27 (Stock 9-9-9-24).

Quite decent overclocking on the ram, at stock speed we were not able to lower timings at all but by raising timings we could increase the frequency.

By increasing the memory frequency we dropped the SuperPi 8M run with 5 seconds, to a total of 1 minute 51 seconds.

Aida 64 Extreme:

We can see some mixed results in the Aida test where the Visiontek is faster than the Patriot kit at stock.
