Testing:

Testing was done by measuring the voltages at the connectors with a multimeter. Idle voltages were taken running Windows and full loads were taken while running 3dmark2005.Results of similar tests on a previously reviewed Nextherm 460W PSU and an Antec Smartpower 350W PSU are included for comparison.

5V Testing:

Similarly, the 5V rail was also solid.Very little voltage drop and minimal voltage fluctuations were seen.

12V Testing:

As you can see, the Rocketeer 500W PSU delivers solid performance that did not vary greatly under loaded conditions.

Conclusion:

The Spire Rocketeer III 500W PSU is a solid PSU with good performance and quality silent operations.At ~$50 USD, the PSU is competitively priced among power supplies with similar performance.Despite a couple of minor nits, this power supply deserves consideration when choosing your next power supply.Overall, I would rate this product a 5 out of 5.
