PH-TC12DX is a typical tower based heatsink. It is about the same height as Noctua NH-U12P which is one of the first commercially successful tower based coolers. PH-TC12DX has a copper base and the fins are anodized aluminum and colored in black. Very stylish in my opinion!

On top of the heatsink is a Phanteks logo. The logo itself is carved in aluminum and there are no stickers attached to the heatsink.

PH-TC12DX is secured on the motherboard using two screws; one on each side. This method assures a tight installation and leveling the heatsink is easy. There are springs around the screw so you can’t overtighten them.

The base of the cooler is colored in aluminum, however it is made of copper but coated with nickel. The base is connected to the actual heatsink with four heatpipes on  both sides. The base of the cooler was very straight and we did not notice any holes or grooves in it.
