The main cord is a generous 3 meters (10 feet) long. This seems more than enough for most applications but allows you greater flexibility. The end connection is USB, not the standard 3.5mm headphone connection. I was a little disappointed that an adapter wasn’t provided to allow you to use either USB or the headphone connections. Also located on the cord is a remote control, equipped with a handy volume adjustment, a mute button, and a clip.

Putting on the headset, I first noticed how comfortable it felt compared to my cheapo behind-the-ear headset.  The ear cushions fit well over the ears; it feels as if the cushion doesn’t touch the ear at all. The headset adjusts easily and accommodates my large head easily. The microphone is a little short but is also easy to adjust and remains in place for long periods of time.
Sound quality was impressive overall. Listening to music, the headset offered a wide range and had very little distortion that I could detect. The high frequency sounds were crisp, and the headset had a decent amount of deep bass (though not overly “thumping”). Also, I was happy to NOT hear that annoying background buzzing sound except at really high volumes, ones that would be too loud to listen comfortably to music. Although the headset does not have surround sound or noise-canceling features, they still provide a good sound experience, especially when gaming.
The microphone performed well; people thought my voice was crisp and the volume was at the right level. The headset is also Skype compatible, and using it in that application was a pleasure as well.

The included software has some basic audio adjustments such as surround sound and volume/mixing controls.
The CyberSnipa Sonar 5.1 Headset is a high-quality and solid performing gaming headset that should satisfy the most discriminating gamers yet also please those looking for a decent set of headphones. The headset is comfortable to wear for long periods of times, and the retractable microphone is a handy feature. The headset doesn’t come with every accessory under the sun, but the basics are there. Overall, this headset is a good choice if you’re looking to improve your gaming experience.
