Turning the case to the side, we find more plain panels with a smooth metallic finish. The only thing of note is the two 120mm windows; you can install two side fans of that size to increase air flow. But I was a little disappointed that the case didn’t come with those fans installed.

Looking at the back of the case, we find another 120mm fan installed and the standard ATX layout with the power supply mount above the mother board. The case also has ports for water cooling features, though frankly with such a small case I’m not sure how water cooling could be installed.

Once the case is open, we get a better view of the layout of the case; pretty standard and not much of note. The drive bays are nicely slotted and use tool-less features to install the components. The bottom of the case has rubber feet to provide a stable platform.

Along with the case itself, the package comes with some additional accessories including screws and the tool-less features needed to install the drives into the drive bays.

Installation of the components inside the case went very smoothly overall, especially thanks to the well-designed tool-less features. All of the components fit well, and I didn’t have any cable routing issues. I was a little disappointed that the lines of the case get broken up when you install drives, but overall I think the case still looks good.

Once I got the case closed and computer powered on, the nice blue LEDs on the fans and the power buttons came to life. Noise performance was on-part with other cases, probably thanks to the small number of fans.

Conclusion:
Overall, the NZXT Beta Computer Case is a decent case that provides a custom look and delivers where it counts. Installation of components is easy, thanks to the tool-less features and good layout. While this case doesn’t offer much in terms of unique features, it does offer a solid design that should meet most builders’ needs.

Pros:
+ Nice looking exterior
+ USB/eSATA/Audio ports on the top of the case
+ Tool-less design
+ Easy installation
+ Compact package

Cons:

- Plain without many unique features
- Doesn’t come with side cooling fans
