First Look at the CM SniperToday we are going to take a look at a new case named Sniper that is manufactured by a sister company to Coolermaster. This case seems to have alot of cool new features like two 200mm fans to keep the case cool so let´s check it out! About CM Storm: Through long-standing research programs, CM Storm is co-developed with the world’s most prolific enthusiasts and eSport prodigies. Thanks to intensive testing and continuous feedback, the CM Storm division has been able to encompass and improve upon gamers' needs and their tough to handle scenarios. By working directly with the gaming community, CM Storm has injected Storm Tactics into each and every product we make. Storm Tactics, with a heavily dedicated focus on Strength, Security and Control, will keep your most vital gear fortified and well tuned at all times. Marking a new era for Cooler Master, our fierce Storm Gear stands ready at bay to mobilize and back up your gaming skills. Features: Fan and light controls The product:
On the top left corner CM Storm have placed their logo and on the box they have placed a picture of the case itself with a big Sniper text on the bottom. Seems like CM have used the trendy colors of black and sky blue on this box. The case itself though is completely black and it doesn't weigh to much, my first thought is that I don't hear any rattling or shacking in the box when I unpacked it compared to cheaper cases that tend to make quite a bit of noise when unpacking.
Looking at the front of the case we will see that there is a big power button and a big fan controller button. Kind of reminds me of an old car with big wheels to turn to control the air condition. On the front there is also E-SATA, USB , sound and even a firewire port. The top is equipped with a ventulation grill since you can mount a fan in the top of the case to exhaust the hit air out.
Looking at the front of the case we can see that there is plenty of 5.25 slots, five slots should be enough for you with todays combined drives. The front also has a ventilation grill that leads to the front fan which takes in fresh cool air into the case. The sides also have ventilation grills since you can mount some fans on the sides also to increase the airflow.
If we look at the back of the case this time we can clearly see that they have mounted the PSU on the bottom, this tends to make more space in the case but how will it affect the heat issue? You can mount various sizes of fans in the back of the case and also they have pre modded a couple of holes into the top for watercooling which I find quite nice. The holes are large enough for 1/2 tubing. The inside of the case is usually the more interesting, the HDD tray looks removable and the case overall is toolless design which should make things quite easy when it comes to installing parts.
