Closer Look and Testing

The clip or strap whichever you like to call it is actually the USB cable. The inside of the enclosure looks like all the others except at one point, the whole cover is a actually a grill to ventilate the air in the enclosure. This should add some stability to the drive even during hot summer days.

The drive fits perfect into the device, make sure the SATA plugin and the power plugin actually are aligned in the right place before you give it the final push that plugs them in. After you have installed the drive take the small screws and tighten the cover on to the enclosure. So far everything has looked good but it is time for us to take a look at some test results.

Seagate Momentus 7200,2 80GB 2,5 SATA drive

We used Sisoft Sandra 2009 and the latest Everest Ultimate version to benchmark the enclosure with. We are comparing the drive vs the Eagletech ET-CS2LSU2.

Testing:

Sisoft Sandra´s Physical drive benchmark shows the operations the drive makes and to the far right we see the performance of the drive outside a enclosure so we are supposed to focus mainly on the left and middle bar to see the difference between the enclosures.
The Ineo actually performs a bit better than the I-series enclosure from Eagletech.

This benchmarks the drive as a removable drive like USB flash drives etc, here we can see the operations per minute and here the I-series is actually a bit faster.

Conclusion:

 This enclosure is fast as the competitor so I guess it's up to you to choose which look fits your personality best. I don't have anything negative to say about the enclosure either, it works stable and the harddrive fits perfect in it. Installation was easy and atleast under Vista no drivers are required. A well packed product with good accessories and a nice cloth sack to store it in gives this the little extra touch that might make you want to choose it. Overall I am more than satisifed with this enclosure and its performance.
