Closer Look and Testing

The core itself is very nice looking without any scratches or dents. It is not as shiny as previous ones that I have seen but im sure this will work very well though. Mounting is way easier than it actually looks, you start with the plastic stands and bottom piece that you push through the holes from the bottom.

Next step is to put on the clips on each side and use the bolts to screw them down into place.  Tighten them down all the way to the bottom to make sure that the heatsink will stay in place. After this you are ready to put on some thermal paste on the core.

Next step is to mount the screws and springs to tighten the heatsink down with. After this the heatsink installation is done and next step is actually going to the fan installation.

As I said earlier this cpu cooler has two fans on it, you can either install them to blow on the heatsink or so one blows and one exhaust the air of the heatsink. Installation was quite easy and straightforward which I expected it to be. Its time to take a look at what type of temperatures we can expect from this cooler.

Testing:

Intel Core i7 965 Extreme
Asus P6D Motherboard
Asus Geforce 9800 GX2 Matrix
Patriot DDR3 kit
Coolermaster M700 PSU
Gskill 64GB SSD HDD

Ambient temperature during testing was 22 Celsius, and we took our idle temperatures while idling in Windows and load temperatures after looping Pcmark Vantage. In our tests the Noctua is ran at lowest possible speed, ~1000rpm, while the stock cooler runs at full speed.

As we can see , this cooler is way ahead of the stock cooler and it also makes like half the noise.
