It is an external HDD enclosure which you plug your harddrive into and run it through USB instead. It's so nice not to have to worry about opening the case and fighting to plug the harddrive in and get the jumpers right. This seems to be a very convenient solution since you just have to plug the harddrive into this enclosure and then connect the USB cable. Then you start the computer and install some drivers if you don't run win98 and there you go... but is it really that easy? ![]() Vantec Nexstar NST-350U2 HD enclosurePosted on: 3/24/2008 12:00:00 AMA few weeks ago we looked at the Silverriver HD enclosure from Thermaltake which was a high quality product and worked very well. Today we have Vantecs Nexstar HD enclosure on the test bench. These products have become very popular lately as they make plugging in one additional harddrive very easy. They run through your USB port so you can plug it in whenever you want and also disconnect it if you decide to leave in a hurry for example. |
