Intel Core i7 965 Quad Core CPU

 Core i7 a well known name for most computer users these days, it is Intels latest processor that really seems to crush all opponents on the market right now.
We are going to benchmark the 965 Quad Core today which is the most expensive Core i7 processor on the market that retails for around 1000$. Will it be worth the money and how well does it really perform? That is a few of the questions we are going to answer in todays review.

3.20 GHz core speed

3 Channels of DDR3 1066 MHz memory

Not much to say about the processor itself, it looks like the older core2duo processors so the mounting system is the same. Remember that this socket is 1366 so your normal socket 775 cpu cooler won't work on this motherboard, although many cpu cooler manufacturers offer free brackets so your coolers will work on the motherboards.

Testing today was done vs the AMD Phenom 9850BE and vs the now old Intel QX6700 Quad Core. In our tests we lacked a triple channel memory kit due to delays in the shipping procedure and therefore we ran it with a dual channel kit. I know the processors that we are using are older but alot of people still sit on these processors so this should really show the difference on the processors.

Sisoft Sandra 2009, Cpu arithmetic benchmark:

To start with we used various benchmark from Sisoft Sandra 2009. Cpu arithmetic is one of them that shows the processor power and as we really can see on this graph the older Intel and the newer AMD do not stand a chance.

The Multimedia test is used to show how your processor handles multimedia instructions compared to other processors. The AMD outperforms the others though on the second tests while the Core i7 is actually alot faster on the other.
