IntroductionToday its time for another case review, Thermaltake was kind enough to send us a sample of their XaserVI Mx case for review. This seems to be a nice looking medium tower case if we take a quick overview of it but the question is how good is the quality, and what kind of new features does it have that should give it the edge over its competitors? The main feature seems to be that the case is designed for both air and watercooling so lets see if there is enough space to squeeze in a watercooling setup. About Thermaltake: Thermaltake Technology Co., Ltd. With company's core business of CPU cooling still growing at a vast rate, Thermaltake made another grand entry to the PC chassis industry. To date, Thermaltake has always been considered as the pioneering company that revolutionized the PC chassis industry with Xaser series enclosures. The typical and traditional beige and plastic front panel design was outdone by Xaser series chassis's atypical gaming red and aluminum front panel. It was also the first enclosure available to public with Hardcano unti which provided users full control over computer's thermal management system. In the year 2002, Thermaltake announced Purepower line of power supply unti for the ever-growing power-hungry PCs. Purepower series PSU quickly gained recognition with its extensive warranty and high-reliability guaranty. Today, Thermaltake has grown into a world-class company with state-of-the-art testing and R&D facility based in Taiwan along with 60+ engineers and ID team covering each application segment such as Liquid Cooling, Air Cooling, PC Enclosure and Power Supply for main-stream users, high-end solutions, system integrators and industrial applications; thus achieve Thermaltake's company motto, " COOLall YOUR LIFE " ! Features: Specifications: The product:
The product comes packed in a very nice box with a big picture of the case itself. Now this case is available in various colors but we got the silver colored one with plexi window.
The extra ports are placed on the top of the case with a big Xaser logo. You get an eSATA, USB and sound ports with thise case for your convenience. These ports are well placed and make it very easy to connect gadgets as you don't have to reach to the back of the case. As I said earlier we got the version with the plexi window, there is a case excatly like this also without the window. A small handle is placed so you can easily remove the side panel, but if you want to lock your case for a LAN party as an example there is also a lock in the handle itself.
The inside of the case looks quite spacious and at a first glimpse we can see that there is a big 120 mm fan mounted in the rear of the case. There also seems to be some power cables coming from the front along with the various extra port cables. The harddrive cage is removable, all you have to remove is two thumb screws to be able to pull the cage out. Even when a SATA drive is mounted and you connect a SATA cable it does not get squeezed between the connector and the side of the case so there is plenty of room right there.
