The Sunbeamtech Acrylic case actually arrives in a kit that you have to assemble. This is first case I’ve reviewed that hasn’t come preassembled, so we’ll see how much fun it is. The package itself is has a nice picture of the case on the front and a list of specs/features on the back.

Opening up the package, we find all of the case components nicely wrapped in foam wrapping, protecting the delicate acrylic from scratching. Along with the components comes a ton of screws, a front I/O port card, 3 fans, and some gloves.

Assembly of the case frankly took quite a bit of time, but thankfully it wasn’t too frustrating of an experience. The instructions were very clear and the parts were all labeled correctly. The pieces all fit in together perfectly and in a logical order.

The case has 9 drive bays which should be adequate for most computer builds. One thing that’s nice about the case is that you can adjust the position of the front fan holes and the hard drive bays, which allows you to optimize airflow and positioning relative to the motherboard. I guess that’s one advantage of being able to assemble the case yourself.
