Spire SkiveStream III

Posted on: 3/24/2008 12:00:00 AM
CPU coolers have enlarged as with the speed of the processors themselves, this is due to the more complex you make a processor and the faster it runs the more power is required therefore more heat is produced. This leads to us now connecting 600-800g behemoths of coolers to our socket lugs, which I why I was suppressed when I saw the spire SkiveStream III as its dimensions are quite small.

Thermaltake Jungle512 Intel socket 775 cooler

Posted on: 3/24/2008 12:00:00 AM

Scythe Kamakaze CPU Cooler

Posted on: 3/24/2008 12:00:00 AM
Every overclocker wants a cool processor, we dont want to have a hot processor as this means less overclock, although the cost of this is a noisy computer? Not necessarily so. I have been running a volcano 7+ with a 80mm delta screamer fan, its called the screamer for one reason the ridiculous noise that it makes! I have to confess that the fan is only ever at full speed when overclocked and under load, but still the noise when the fan is at half speed can be irritating. Water cooling I hear you cry, nice and quiet but to get the equivalent cooling I need to spend around 100. There is another option the growing breed of quiet cpu coolers. Lately more and more quiet coolers have been coming onto the market, even some passive but unfortunately they are no good for more than browsing let alone overclocking and nice low temperatures. Today we are going to be looking at a quiet cooler from Scythe called the kamikaze.

Antarctica

Posted on: 3/24/2008 12:00:00 AM

We’ve seen a lot of intricate CPU coolers, from large air-cooled units to liquid coolers to peltiers. Yet despite all the different companies that create these coolers, one name often comes to mind: Zalman. AcousticPC.com, well-known retailer for a wide variety of quiet performance products, provided us a sample of one of their popular CPU cooler offerings, the Zalman CNPS9700 NT. Will good things come in large packages? That is the question we’re going to answer in this review
