Closer look

Today we will have a look at our first pair of DDR2 memory that was sent to us by Corsair. We will have a drive and see how these perform against some normal DDR from Corsair and see what we can get after some overclocking. It will be interesting to see this high end memory in todays test so stay tuned. Testing:

Intel Socket 775 3,2 ghz
Gigabyte 915P
Corsair Twin2x1024-5400 DDR2
Liteon CdRW 16*10*40
Gigabyte FX5900 PCI-E
Maxtor 80 gb 7200 rma UDMA 133

Testing was done with Aida32, Sisoft Sandra 2004 and Pcmark2004.

Aida32:

We can already see in our first test the difference speedwise both in read and write.

Pcmark2004:

1200 point difference is very very good and we can see the power of DDR2.

Sisoft Sandra 2004 Single channel:

Just the difference with running one stick is pretty nice looking and I doubt we maxed the memory out with the board we had for testing. What about dual?

Sisoft Sandra 2004 Dual channel:

Almost 2000 points difference. We have some noteworthy speed here I have to say.
