Closer look at the mouse

The scroll wheel is not flat like on most mice, it actually points up like a "V". According to Roccat, their testers which are 'real' gamers have found this design most comfortable. On the right mouse button they have engraved the Roccat name, I thought this would be annoying but I actually don't even feel it. If you look closely on the left picture you will see that the buttons have a clear piece of plastic on them and this is where they have placed some leds.

This mouse has a optical sensor and you can set it up all the way to 3200DPI, it also has four pads on the bottom which helps it slide accross any surface without major problems. We used the mouse on our Qpad mousepad and on a wooden table without any problems. The table has a glossy cover but the mouse responded well to it even though it had a glossy finish.

Testing:

I have ran this mouse now for a week and to be honest I was hesitant for in the beginning since I did not see any recognizable shape or ergonomics on it really. As time went on however I have slowly started liking the mouse, it fits quite well in my hand now and it is growing on my day by day. Since I have used it for a week I have been able to test it in normal windows usage, FPS gaming, and also strategy games so it has been tested in various situations. It responds very well in FPS games and I have started liking the fact that I don't have to get in to a software to change settings as it is done by pushing certain buttons.

Videoclip:

We have a videoclip where we unpack the mouse and show it, at the end you can see the leds in action.

Mouse rate:

The guys at NGOHQ sent us a link to a mouse rate checked they managed to get running under Windows 7. The Roccat mouse averages at 700Hz while our older Ace mouse averages at 125Hz

We used the mouse at sensitivity three in Windows 7 and all DPI settings.

Conclusion:

This is a great mouse, it fits my hand perfect and the it doesn't weigh anything which makes it very comfortable to game with. It works for most users since it is for left and right handed consumers. The leds give it a cool look while the button combinations make it very easy to change settings instead of having a software. Another cool thing is that it has a extra wide scroll wheel and and buttons on both sides of the mouse. I can more than recommend this product since it is a great mouse that makes gaming a pleasure.

Pros:
+ Left and right handed can use
+ Well packed
+ Leds
+ No drivers needed

Cons:
- None this far
