Introduction/First Look

We've all seen them, we've all heard them, we all have them. Case fans make up the backbone of the computer hardware industry, they're the simple but vitally important component everyone overlooks -without them, computers would be reduced to smoldering lumps of silicon. So, with that said, today we have a review on Coolink's new SWiF2 series case fans.

Features:

The SWiF2 series is based off Coolink's popular original SWiF series (Silent Whisper Fan). Available in sizes ranging from the commonplace 120mm down to the less popular 80mm, the SWiF2 series boasts an improved airflow to noise ratio over the original series. Just as notably, the new series adds support for PWM fan speed control, which enables motherboards to automatically adjust fan speed or users to manually adjust it. Low speed for those who want a whisper quiet system, high speed for those who need to cool heat factories of computers. Along with PWM support, and an improved airflow to noise ratio, the SWiF2 series also features hydro-dynamic bearings, an 11-blade impeller system, and a new color scheme.

Specifications:

It's worth noting that the airflow is in cubic meters an hour, to convert to CFM, multiply by 0.58.

The four fans all arrived in identically cool packaging, pictured is the 120P. On the front are a few details about the fan, and a plastic window giving a sneak peak of what's inside. On the back is a summary detailing the fan, a graph showing the improvements over the original SWiF series, and finally a table of specifications.

Opening up the box, we get our first glance at the SWiF2 120P version. In my opinion the color scheme is definitely an improvement over the original SWiF's transparent blue plastic look. The 11-blade impeller is green/yellow and housed in a strong black plastic casing. Which is important to note, contains a very large  number of blades (11) compared to the original series, and some top performing fans on the market. None of the fans in the SWiF2 series have LED's which is an excellent move by Coolink, going for the simple yet elegant look versus the over bloated with LED's look.

Each fan in the series is consistent with the same yellow/green color scheme and design, the only difference being the blade size. The second picture shows that the 120P and 1201 fans are built identically, but the 120P is roughly a third more powerful on maximum speed.

In terms of accessories, each fan includes the standard screws and rubber mounts. Though, the PWM version also includes a PWM fan split cable, featuring a 4 pin and 3 pin plug.
