The backside of the case reveals something you don't see in every case. Nexus Edge is designed to be compatible with watercooling. That's why there are four holes for your water hose pipes. There are also slots for two 140mm fans, although only one is provided with the case. The powersupply is located at the bottom of the case like in many new 'highend' enclosures. Nexus Edge also has 140mm exhaust fan at the top of the case and it is covered with mesh. The front side of the top of the case has the typical connectors: eSATA, 2x USB, mic, line-out, reset and powerswitch.
Both the sidepelts have noise reduction sheets which are supposed to reduce vibration noices the case would generate. We noticed however that the sheets were attached to the plate only from the top and bottom edges leaving it vulnerable to accidental damage. However this should not effect the noise reduction performance of the sheets.
The next thing we decided to take a look at is the interiors of the case. There is lots of space in the case. You can fit nine 5.25" devices to the case along with more than enough nine hard disks. This case seems to be great for fileservers. There is a roomdivider in the middle of the case which divides it clearly to two sections. One for hard disks and powersupply, and the other for motherboard and 5.25" devices.
Let's have a look at the fans Nexus provided with the case. Fans are designed for 12V voltage taking 0.5A of power. The model number of the fans is DX14SL-12 and they are Nexus's own design. They aren't the most silent that we have found on markets, but being 140mm fans the noise level is comfortable to ear and doesn't annoy me.
