Four 8mm heatpipes come in direct contact with the CPU and carry heat to the aluminum fins, which are cooled with the two 120mm fans.

The silver fans spin at 1000 RPM.  The sleeved wire ends at a 3pin connector, the standard in most computers.  The fans attach to the Cooler using 4 metal clips.  The fans are made from brittle plastic and are easy to break.  On of them broke during testing, but luckily we found a replacement.

The aluminum fins are fat around the edges and thin in the middle to match the airflow pattern of the fans.  The top is reflective, with "TRANSFORMER 4" printed in between the silver capped heatpipes.

Installation:

Start out by removing your old cooler and thouroughly cleaning the CPU surface.  Then flip over your motherboard and attach the proper mounting bracket.  You'll have to remove your motherboard from the case, unless you have an access hole in your motherboard tray.  Put the rubber grommets over the motherboard's mounting holes.

Once you have screwed the bracket on and attached the metal standoffs, put a small circle of thermal grease on the center of the CPU.  Fit the "I" shaped mounting bracket onto the baseplate, then mount it on the CPU, lining up the screws with the corresponding holes.  Then, just screw on the caps to secure the heatsink.
