Included with the burner is an empty DVDR DVD, a sound cable from the sound card to the burner, and a cd with a full version of Nero. The front looks alot loke the DDW-081 but they have added some print to the tray. Please click on thumbnails to get bigger pictures
I think the front is very clean and looks good. All that I wish was different was that it was available in black. On the sides we find four holes to fit all cases out there.

Remember to jumper the player right before connecting it to the computer. You can see the jumper on the right picture which you either put on master, slave, or cable select setting depending on what you already have connected to that specific IDE cable you are connecting it to.
We tested this drive with Nero CD/DVD speed program and we ran tests on audio cd, original cd, burned cd, burned dvd, and an original DVD. The drive is compared to its older brother DDW-081.
Audio cd:
We have a big difference in read speeds when it comes to a normal audio cd, but what about a normal data cd?
Original cd:
Seems like the older version is faster on reading normal cds according to the test. Well what about a burned copy of it then?
Burned cd:
When it comes to a copy of the original cd the new DDW-082 is faster instead. Very confusing numbers but let's keep on testing and see what we can come up with.
