Looking at the back of the case, we see a 120mm fan preinstalled and the standard set of slots for PCI cards and the motherboard I/O ports. As you might be able to tell from the picture, the motherboard tray is removable. This is a nice feature especially for a small case that might offer limited room inside.

Once the case is open, we get a better view of the layout of the case. The case has a unique layout as we’ll see once the computer is built, but overall it works just fine. There are four 3.5” drive bays inside the case to house hard drives.
The case also comes with a healthy amount of screws and additional accessories for liquid cooling; the case is designed to accommodate liquid cooling setups. I really like how NZXT takes the time to label the accessories; most companies simply throw them all into a single bag.

Sure, a computer case might look good, but the real test comes when putting in components. Thankfully, the NZXT Panzerbox doesn’t disappoint in this area either.. On the good side, I really like the removable motherboard tray; this makes building a computer very easy. Thanks to the extra width, there is no problem accommodating larger CPU cooler, unlike the previously reviewed NZXT Rogue SFF case.

Looking at the finished build, we see that it’s fairly cramped inside but no issues with interference. It’s interesting to see how NZXT placed the power supply slightly in front of the motherboard; it makes sense to conserve space given the extra width the case has.

Turning on the computer, I was greeted by a nice soft glow from the LEDs near the power button. The mesh grill on the top and front also allows a glimpse of the inside of the case. I was impressed by the cooling performance of the case, which manages to flow a lot of air through the space without a large amount of noise.
Conclusion
The NZXT Panzerbox computer case is a uniquely designed case that adds a bit of flair to any computer build. The case has a unique layout that works well, and the large number of fans/openings provides excellent cooling performance. Building a computer in this case is a breeze thanks to the motherboard tray and the cooling performance is top notch. While I’m a little worried about how much dust this case will collect, overall it’s a long term addition to any computer build.
