Chaintech Apogee & Corsair XMS3 DDR3 2x2GB Kits

Testing time

Tests were performed by using the following setup:

Asus M4A785TD-M
AMD Phenom 2 X4 955
Seagate 500GB Hard disk
ECS Geforce 9800GT
G.SKILL 2x2GB DDR3 1600MHz Ripjaws 7-7-7-24
OCZ 2x2GB DDR3 1600MHz XMP 7-7-7-24

All kits were tested using 1600MHz settings with latencysettings set to default. With Corsair kit we had to manually adjust the latency settings in order to get our system to boot. The settings were set to ones specified in the packet. We could not test the Chaintech kit using 2000MHz settings because our motherboard did not boot with those settings.

Sisoft Sandra 2010, Bandwidth benchmark:

Chaintech Apogee & Corsair XMS3 DDR3 2x2GB Kits

Let us first take a look at the Sisoftware Sandra 2010 memory bandwidth test. G.SKILL seems to be fastest here, by a small margin. The difference isn’t huge though and all four kits seem to be equally fast.

Sisoft Sandra 2010 Memory latency:

In latencytest results should be as low as possible. All test units are again around the same performancelevel in both latency and speed.

In this test higher bandwidth is good while speed is supposed to be as low as possible. It isn’t hard to see a winner here. Chaintech kit wins in both bandwidth and speed with reasonably large margin to others.
