Asus GTX260 and GTX280 Videocard Preview

Today the the new videocards from Nvidia went public and we had a sneak peak at them earlier last week. This is just a preview to show you the looks and hopefully we can arrange a review within a few weeks for you. Quote from Nvidia, "Imagine instead of taking over five hours to convert a video for your iPod, it only takes 35 minutes. Imagine using your PC to simulate protein folding to help find a cure for debilitating diseases.

Imagine that your PC can dramatically accelerate everyday tasks, and deliver an exciting visual experience in the process. Today that imagination becomes a reality now that the leader in visual computing technologies, NVIDIA (Nasdaq: NVDA), has introduced its new family of GeForce® GTX 200 graphics processors (GPUs)—which includes the GeForce GTX 280 and GeForce GTX 260 GPUs—taking graphics beyond gaming and gaming beyond anything that’s ever been possible before on a consumer computing platform. "

At a first glance we can see that the card is quite big, and this is not even with the original cooler mounted at the time. This specific card was used for world record runs at Dreamhack this weekend.

Here we got a shot of the stock cooler from Asus with a nice looking girl on the front as usual.

Even the back side of the card is equipped with a heatsink so I expect the card to run quite hot.

After stripping the card you get to the core itself and the ram chipsets.
