Dreamhack Summer 2008
Dreamhack is the biggest LAN Party in the world with up to 10000 computers. The summer version that we are going to talk about today is not as big as the winter one. There was plenty to look at though as we went down there the first day of the LAN alot of people were still arriving to the event which was nice to see. They also have some companies showing their latest gear and this time we saw Asus, Mushkin, Steelseries just to mention a few.
Dreamhack usually runs for about 3 days and brings people from all over the world. Usually they end up getting elite gamers joining up for the contest in various FPS games and also more casual gamers for all the various game tournaments running all the time.

During the beginning of the event they have several entraces open to get the people in as soon as possible but as they day go on they end up having just one or two open. Early in the morning at 8AM you will see lines of people trying to enter and get their access passes. We came in around 11 AM and there were still people trying to get in all over the place.

According to a few friends of mine they say that the guy holding the red laptop apparently is a Warhammer developer or something, so I guess we saw something "famous" at our visit.

After meeting up with our Asus representative Anders, he took care of us and got our media passes so we could enter the whole event. The first thing we did was to take a few pictures of the Asus booth which was the biggest and most interesting at the whole event.
Kinc and Crotale were setting up their new videocards to break another 3dmark world record, I got the news that later they broke several of them actually.

All over the Asus booth they had displays showing of their latest products like the EEE PC, monitors, laptops, videocards etc. The overclocking team really needed some good cooling to be able to break the records and that was done with liquid nitrogen of course.

Asus really seem to focus alot on the laptop market with various laptops to fit all users on the market. The badboy on the right picture is one of their latest creation that I hope we can get to review later on, apparently it's very popular among media at the moment.
