The best Pc games of the 90´s
This article can be written in so many ways, everyone has their own personal opinion when it comes to games. I have asked around and what I want to do with this article is to open it up for discussion, I am going to list the top 10 games of the 90´s as far as I and a few others are concerned but as said please feel free to discuss your views in our forums as this is a big topic to cover.
Nr 10. Warcraft 2 by Blizzard
This is the follow-up to the popular Warcraft game. Blizzard added more troop support to the game and new flying units and boats. We have seen how the Warcraft genre has grown after this with Warcraft 3, Frozen Throne expansion and now lately the so popular MMPORG World Of Warcraft.
As a WOW player I know that the game has been built on the older strategy games.
The lore and the game play is something amazing in the Warcraft world and therefore I have given spot number 10 to Warcraft 2.

Nr 9. Starcraft by Blizzard
Another game from Blizzard, and now I am not a Blizzard fan. I just feel that these two games have helped the strategy game genre forward from the 90´s. Along with Command&Conquer they have revolutionized the market and given the strategy games a new name. Starcraft is still played a lot on ladders and online even though it’s quite old.

Nr 8. NHL 96 by Easports
Why NHL96 of all the different versions? 96 introduced a revolutionary feature to the NHL games by implementing new camera views. In the previous versions you were able to only see from above but in 96 and forward you can choose between different camera views like on ice which gives you a more realistic feeling and it also adds a new skill level to the game. New camera views, new skills, can only equal to a new revolutionary game play. This is why I think the game deserves the 8th spot.

Nr 7. Homeworld by Sierra
Space games have always been kind of stiff. You have only been able to view your ship from behind and not had the room to move around. This all changed then Homeworld came into the market; you can control and view your games from every angle. If you have not tried out Homeworld I recommend you to download Homeworld 2 to give it a shot. Many space games have followed the idea of movement in this game and implemented them into their own games. Star Trek Armada is just one.

Nr 6. Quake/Halflife by id Software / Valve
Now why did I put two games into number 6? Well I could not choose which game to put here so I choose both. While Quake is older it set the standards for how FPS gaming should be. Many might argue that Doom did this but Quake just had the feeling, the game play and the controls Doom never offered. Halflife on the other hand came out with a new gameplay/graphics engine which set the standard to todays FPS games. Even though games as Battlefield, Call of Duty etc are on the market Halflife still remains as one of the great contributors to FPS gaming in my eyes.

Nr 5. Baldurs Gate 2 by Bioware
Baldurs gate layed the path for fantasy games with a story. You can choose which way you want to go, the story is not as linear as in other games. Both Baldurs Gate games were played by hordes of people as they offered a cool new thinking game style.
