Zalman ZM400B-APF noiseless powerupply

With this power supply you get 6 molex connectors and the P4 connectors of course. Then we have a adittional 2 floppy connectors. A new feature with this never version of the power supply is that it has two SATA connectors included. You don't need any adapters etc which is very good.

Testing:

AMD XP 2600
Leadtek K7ncr18d
512 mb DDR Corsair PC3700
20 gig Maxtor 7200 rpm
Geforce 4 MX440
Liteon CDRW 16*10*40

We tested the power supplies in 5 and 12 V. We took full stats while running Sisoft Sandra 2004 burn in program. Stats were compared to a Zalman ZM400A silent power supply.

By these numbers we can see that they have improved the 5V but for some reason the 12V is lower than on the older brother. The 12 V is way to low if a overclocker was going to buy this power supply.

Conclusion:

I gave the older version 5 out of 5 but I don't think this new one is as good as the older one. It is to far from the promised 12V on that rail but maybe I got a bad sample? Well anyways it's very very quiet. It might even be quieter than the A version. It works great and keeps all the voltage very stable. This power supply goes for around 100$ which is pretty expensive but you pay for what you get also. You get a quality power supply! All in all we give this 4 out of 5 and a recommendation for a great power supply that is really quiet as it says on the box :)

Pros: + Quiet!
+ Good looking
+ Good manuals
+ Sata connectors (no adapters needed)
+ 4,9V on the 5V rail

Cons:

- Only 11,3 V on the 12 V rail

Red&Blackness gives it 4 out of 5 dots
