X-Micro mini DisGo 20gb

Today we are taking a look at a 20 GB USB drive that we got sent to us from X-micro. What is so special with a 20 GB USB harddrive then? Well to start with it's the size of a credit card almost and still is able to hold 20GB and USB2. We will be comparing this device to a IDE drive and vs other flash media to show how this device will perform.

They have choosen the name to be mini DisGO, it sounds to me like mini Disco or something :) But to be more on the serious side I beleive it's a mini disc 'on the go', which means that you should be able to carry it with you wherever you are. Well the pictures show that the name is true at least, the disk seems very small and it was packed in this hard cover plastic. On the back you have features in several different languages.

X-micro has included a small bag for the harddrive to prevent it fron dents and scratches if you move it around. You also get a small USB cable so you can plug the device into the computer and a small manual in several languages that explains the basics.

Something I found that is kind of irritating is that you need the small usb cable with you all the time to be able to connecit it to a computer. I beleive there are better solutions for this as a USB jojo that retracts a longer USB cable like a jojo , this way you get a longer cable and also something easier to carry around that this short usb cable that is fairly easy to lose.

On the front of the unit you got the X-micro logo as seen in a previous picture and on the back you have a sticker that has the model and seriel number printed on it. This device is made in Taiwan where they also have their headquarters. On the side of the unit you have the small usb connector and a led that shows when this unit is active.
