X-Micro F610 Music Video Player

On the right side of the player you have a "M" button that will also help you while you navigate through the menus. It will also do different settings when you are in music mode.

On the top you have to the left the power button which you turn the player on and off with, and beside that you have the hold switch/button. This is a really important and nice button due to the fact it locks the buttons on the player so you don't accidently push any buttons if your player is for example in your pocket.

On the left side of the player your have the headphone jack along with the volume controller buttons. They are very well placed as you can easily use them while holding the player in your hand. The only problem I see with headphone jacks on the side are that the player gets bigget sideways when you plug in headphones and they tend to take up more space then in your pocket. By mounting one on top instead it is easier to access the headphone jack and it takes up less room.

Menu system:

I have to start saying that I know the pictures of the menu system are not to good, it's hard to get good shots of this players menu system. I have made a movieclip also that you can take a look at to see it in action instead.

As we can see the menus is place on the right side of the display and each subheading has its own little icon to match it. Like Music has a pair of headphones.

As we can see in music mode you can see the name, theme and singer and also which quality the mp3 is made of.
There is a timer that shows how much is left of the song and a graphical equalizer that dances along with the music. Something I found annoying though was that the equalizer laggs in this version of the firmware, I beleive that it's possible to solve this issued with a new firmware upgrade. The firmware is stable though otherwise, I did not have any lockups at all during the testing phase.

To see the menus in action please download this 16MB .mov clip movieclip

Testing:

During the testing phase I had some issues with the player until I reset the player, there is a small hole on the back of the player where you push in something thin and it will reset the player for you. Otherwise we have tested different movieclips and music styles and we have not had any issues with it. Sound quality is excellent with my Sennheiser HD555 headphones which are quite heavy for the mp3 player to run but it did an excellent job on them.

Conclusion:

This is a good mp3 player no doubt about it and it has alot of fucntions such as; picture viewing, movies, music, fm radio, and even voice recording. They all work well and even the radio is strong enough to be able to pick up the stations I don't normally get in with mp3 players but the firmware does have the issue with the graphical equalizer and I think all they have to do is release a new firmware to fix this. Otherwise there is nothing to complain about even though the earphones are standard and nothing that points out really. By having earphones that are better than average you might have to raise the price a little bit but you will probably gain some buyers on that also. Overall though I like this mp3 player with 2GB space is perfect for me, I never use more than that and I can get all the features I want on one single player that is able to squeeze out great soundquality on on heavy headphones as the Sennheiser HD555.

Pros:

+ Small
+ Great battery time
+ Many features
+ Big display
+ Great sound

Cons:

- Earphones
- Graphical equalizer "laggs"
