Xigmatek NRP-MC851 Power Supply Review

Testing:

Intel QX6700 CPU
Asus PK53 Deluxe
Corsair Twinx3x2048-1600 DDR3
Asus 8600 GT
Maxtor 80GB HDD
Xigmatek MC851 PSU

Ambient temperature during testing was 21 celsius and we used loops of 3dmark2006 to get the load voltage on the rails.

12V Testing:

The 12V rail was quite stable as it stayed on 12.22 during idle and under load. We had some minor changes under load where it switched between 12.22-12.23 once every minute.

Conclusion:

Xigmatek is a fairly new company on the market but I am suprised by the quality they have been able to put out in this product. Usually new companies fail and try various products but Xigmatek have really put alot of effort into this PSU. You might have seen that it performed very well and the noise level of the fan is also very minimal. It's a nice looking PSU that will match your case well and the led fan will lighten up the case a bit. Since it has modular cables it also increases the airflow and it makes the case look very neat without any major modding projects. As I said early the rails were stable and since it has four 12V rails it has no problems running the lastest videocards or various components that need alot of "juice". Overall I am very happy with this and the only thing I can complain at is the price I guess since it sells for around 150$ which in your eyes compares well vs other high market PSUs but I still personally think that the price is to high.

Pros:

+ Quiet
+ Well packed
+ Stable performance
+ Modular

Cons:

- Price
