XCLIO 3060Plus Case Review

We’ve seen a lot of different case designs over the years, and one style that’s becoming more popular as computers run hotter is where a large case fan is provided on the side panel. Today we’ll look at an example of this case style when we examine the XCLIO 3060Plus Case. Will its integrated side fan design prove to blow away the competition? Let’s find out.

The XCLIO 3060Plus case came in a plain-looking cardboard box with no pictures or anything other than the model number. Like many other cases, this case was secured by styrofoam inserts and inside a protective plastic bag.

Removing the case from the packaging, we find a nice two-toned black and silver case with a glossy front panel. The first two things that caught my attention were the large power button on the front and of course the large side fan, which protrudes slightly but looks integrated with the case. This case is a standard mid-tower sized case, not a large tower.

Looking at the front panel closer, we find only four 5.25” drive bays and the one 3.5” drive bay. Four drive bays are about the minimum I would recommend for a computer case, with the wide range of peripherals available it’s easy to fill those up quickly. One of the drive bays has a built-in CD/DVD door, which provides a nice customized look to the case. Also on the front of the panel are two USB ports, a microphone jack, a headphone jack, and a firewire connection, which are all nicely disguised looking like another 3.5” drive bay.

Turning our attention to the case’s side, we see very large fan enclosure that almost covers the entire area, concealing an equally large 360mm fan. This is the largest side-mounted fan I’ve ever seen on a case, which hopefully will pay dividends when it comes to cooling the computer. On the front part of the enclosure, we see a nicely designed power button, LED indicator, and fan speed control dial. I like how you have the option of adjusting the speed and/or turning the fan off from these controls that are easily accessible from the front.
