With this card you get a connector for older screens and also a DVI connector so you can run new LCD screens on the card. The new feature is that you also get a HDMI connector which gives you so many new features you can use.

Quote: "ATI Radeon HD 2000 Series GPUs with ATI Avivo HD* technology offer advanced audio, video processing, display and connectivity capabilities for high definition entertainment solutions"

If you look at the right picture you see the huge size difference between the cards, this card would be extremely well suited for a HTPC when it comes to size and the HDMI connector.

Testing:

Intel Extreme X6800
MSI K9N Neo-F motherboard
OCZ PC2 8500 2*1024MB
Asus 8800GTX Aquatank
Maxtor IDE 133 80GB HDD 7200 RPM
Zalman ZM460-APS

We used the following software to benchmark the card with, 3dmark2005, 3dmark2006, Call of Duty 2, Battlefield 2 and X3 Reunion Demo.

Cards we compared vs in this test at Asus 8600GT and Asus 8800GTS.

3dmark2005:

This card is not meant to be a speedster, it is meant more for the HTPC market and for people that want DirectX10 features. As we can see the card performs quite well in this run of 3dmark2005.

3dmark2005 Antialiasing:

Antialiasing takes alot of power from your videocard and this can be clearly seen when you look at the results in this test.

3dmark2006:

3dmark2006 is the latest version of the popular benchmark program and it requires alot of power from your card, I know that this card got really good results in the test we did for some specific reason. Coincidence maybe, but we ran a few loops with same results.
