Verbatim Desktop Mouse Roundup

Verbatim is well known for their high quality CD and DVD media. In the last few years they have decided to expand their product line into various computer accessories. For example they have started selling external HDD, memory cards, USB flash drives, and even mice. For today’s test we recieved a couple of Verbatims latest’s mice which we will take a closer look at.

About Verbatim:

Since its beginning in 1969, Verbatim® has been at the forefront of the evolution in data storage technology. Today, more than 30 years later, Verbatim remains one of the most recognizable names in the data storage industry.

Customer-driven, Verbatim is known for adding considerable product value--above and beyond its competitors--to established media technology. As an industry pioneer, Verbatim is recognized for the role it plays in early product development and commercial product introduction of new technologies. Verbatim's leadership role is especially apparent in the evolution of optical media recording including MO and the CD/DVD family of products.

The Wireless Laser desktop mouse is packed into a white and blue package. The front of the package is a plastic cover so the buyer can get an idea how the mouse is shaped and if it will fit his/her hand. The most important features of the mouse are printed on the front of the package.

Inside the package you will find everything you need to use this device. You get the mouse of course along with the receiver but they have also included two 750mah batteries, manual, driver cd, and a charger cable for the battery.

The mouse itself has five buttons of which three are placed on the top of the mouse and two are on the right side. On the top you also got a small LED that will show you the power that is left in the battery. On the front you also got a USB port so you can charge the mouse.

Testing the Wireless Laser Desktop Mouse:

The shape of the mouse makes it possible for both left and right handed users to use the mouse. While testing the mouse in normal windows surfing and work we had no lag at all, if you moved the mouse around faster there was no lag and the mouse pointer did not jump around as some mice tend to do. This means it also worked well in gaming so this is a mouse that is also well suited for gamers.

A lot of people might disagree but I personally like the side buttons on the mouse as they make surfing and using the net a lot easier since you are able to program the buttons. The scroll itself feels a bit stiff and after using it for a longer period it tends to feel even stiffer which I find as a con.

The Optical Desktop mouse package looks very much like its bigger brothers package. On the front they have once again printed the most important technical data and on the back you can read the specs in various languages.
