The Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC 3.0 software didn’t come in a package but rather was easily downloaded from the Uniblue website. Spy Eraser can be purchased separately or as part of the Uniblue PowerSuite bundle that comes with two other applications, SpeedUpMyPC and Registry Booster. We reviewed Registry Booster a few months ago and recently reviewed SpyEraser and were happy with both applications. Check out those other reviews for details on those two bundled applications.

Like other Uniblue applications we’ve reviewed, SpeedUpMyPC has an intuitive, easy to understand user interface. I like how all the options are displayed prominently in the main window instead of buried in menus. There are 4 windows available in the main program. The Overview window provides a brief overview of the stats of the last system scan and a simple stoplight chart showing the level of optimization. The only that I found a little confusing is that the Optimization stoplight displayed the results of your last scan, as opposed to the current level of optimization. The Optimization Window provides more in-depth statistics of memory, CPU, hard drive, and Internet usage and also a list of startup applications. I like the strip-chart display, which allows you to monitor the performance over a period of time to see trends.

The CleanUp window provides more file and program management utilities that allow you to “clean-up” junk files, programs, and other miscellaneous pieces of data that are unnecessary. There is also a privacy protector feature that allows you to delete cookies, recently visited Internet sites, etc, and a useful File Shredder feature that lets you permanently delete files. While these features might not necessarily speed up your PC, they are useful things that add to the overall utility of the software. Finally, the Settings window allows you to enable the program on startup and modify other program settings.
