The Ultra Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler arrived in a sturdy, colorful package with pictures of the cooler on the front/back and a list of product specifications and features. Note that the cooler doesn’t come with a hard drive, which is the norm for most coolers on the market. Also of note is Ultra’s 3 year warranty.

Opening up the package, the cooler can be found snuggly secured between a custom foam insert. Along with the cooler, the package contains screws, a grounding cable, and vibration dampers. Also included are easy to understand instructions.

Taking a closer look at the cooler’s main body, we see a bright blue, machined aluminum cooler. The cooler has 4 heat pipes to evenly distribute the heat across the large set of radiator fins. There aren’t any moving parts or fans on the cooler; it relies on the ventilation of the case to dissipate heat from those radiator fins. I also like the fact that they designed in adjustment screws to allow you to ensure that the cooler is in solid contact with the hard drive; very important since the cooler relies on conduction to radiate heat.
