Testing was done with Artic Silver 3 applied and around 24 degrees celsius in the air. Full load temperatures were taken after running Sisoft Sandra 2004
burn in program. Temperatures were shown by Leadteks own temperature/overclocking program. Testing was done against the Swiftech Mcx462v with a low rpm fan.
On the graphs MAX means that the Thermaltake fan was running at Max rpm and at 41dB.
The numbers pretty much speak for themselves. This is a very good cooler that can cool your CPU down even under overclocking.
Remember that the Swiftech cooler was just tested with a low RPM fan so this cooler is not better than the Swiftech.
The fan on the other hand is not quiet on this product, even under low rpm you hear the fan and it's very annoying.
Conclusion:
This is a very good cooler that Thermtake has released. It cools very well but it still has one flaw and that is that the fan is not quiet even when it's turned down
to the lower. It makes a annoying buzzing sound. I'm still impressed with this cooler since it's cheap to buy and still cools very well and comes
with a fan controller. Xpcases sells this cooler for 15$ which is very cheap for a cooler of this caliber. Overall we give this 4 out of 5 for a great cooler that works very well.
Pros:
+ Cools very good
+ Easy to mount
+ Pre applied thermal paste
+ Fan controller
+ Copper core
Cons:
- Fan is loud even at low RPM
- Clip system needs a little more work to be safe
