The Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II cooler comes in a see-thru plastic package that is similar to other Thermaltake products. Included in the package is the cooler, a set of mounting hardware, some thermal paste, and an installation guide.

The cooler itself is all-copper and has a horizontal fan, which has the advantage of directing airflow away from the chipset instead of directly onto it. The bottom of the cooler has a machined, smooth finish that we’ve come to expect with any well-designed cooler. The cooler has a 3 pin fan connector to allow connection of the 40mm fan to the motherboard.

One nice feature of the cooler is that it has a rotating clip system; this allows the cooler to be mounted in any direction to maximize airflow. This feature also lets you work around potential clearance issues. The clips are designed to accommodate Northbridge chipsets with mounting holes and anchor clips. Because of the multi-directional capability, the chipset base is circular instead of square; this makes the base slightly larger than the Northbridge chipset.
