Thermaltake Beetle
Hello chaps, today we have another Thermaltake cooler on the testing bench. This time it's their Beetle cooler. The design on it may scare away a few people but I think that most of them like the look. Anyway, it must be the craziest look I have ever seen on a cooler so far in my life. (20yr) :p

The Beetle cooler comes in this plastic see through box as many other Thermaltake products. As always, it's nice to see and to get a feel for what you're buying. My first impression was that the color on the cooler was kinda sweet and how big the cooler itself is. The box at the bottom is where all the parts are, we have the Beetle cooler features printed at the front and specifications printed on the back of the package on the red paper sheet.

The included parts and so on are following, the Beetle cooler, installation guide on the various sockets, one PCI fan controller and one 3.5" fan controller, thermal grease and all the necessery screws, brackets for the installation. There's also an included tool for the s478 P4 setup.
Well, the fan inside the Beetle cooler is a 92mm as mentioned in the specifications and there's a sweet chrome list around the fan. The Thermaltake logo in the middle lights up when you fire up your computer (of course the Beetle has to be installed and plugged into your motherboard first) and then it start to switch between a few colors like blue, green, violet, red and hopefully I didn't forgot any of them. Spam in the forums if I did!

Well, the red plastic which almost looks like a wing, a beetle wing of course. *DUH* It's UV reactive as you will see later on. The black plastic at the bottom ligths up to when the cooler is on, there's a blue LED inside it and another one on the other side. The 3pin cable for for the fan and all the LED's inside is sleeved with white sleeving.
If we turn around the Beetle cooler once again and what we have here is the back, here we can see the heatpipes and the 39 fins put on them. Compare this 39 with the 110 on the Sonic Tower, well maybe you get the idea that this cooler is a little smaller then the Sonic Tower. There's four small holes at the back, these are here if you would like to mount a optinal 80mm fan.

On the left picture we have the base on the cooler where all the different brackets get installed when you're going to install the Beetle on your setup. The sleeved 3pin is for the fan and all the LED's and the 2pin is for the two included fan controllers.
The base which is going to be in contact with the processor is kinda smooth, it isn't a mirror finish though, but it's good.

This is how the cooler looks like when it's fired up and when a pair of UV lights is lighten up close to the Beetle. Looks kinda sweet doesn't it?

The PCI fan controller is painted gold and it has a black sticky on it, with Min and Max and a Thermaltake logo printed on it. The 3.5" fan controller comes on a aluminum plate, it has a big knob so you can steer the 92mm fan on the Beetle. There's a slogan printed on this one that says "Cool all your life". If we turn around the fan controllers we can see that they are basically made of a rheostat, the 2pin cable which is suppose to get connected to the 2pin on the Beetle cooler is quite long on both the fan controllers.
