Supertalent ProjectX 2GB DDR3-1800 Memory Kit

When things named ProjectX drops down the mailbox or are delivered to the door it really makes me curious. It was no different this time when the UPS guy dropped buy a package from Supertalent. We got a package with Supertalent´s latest memory named ProjectX DDR3-1800. This is a 2GB kit with some sick specifications that we are going to take a look at right away in the review so stay tuned.

The product comes packed in a similar way as most ram do these days, which is in a plastic cover that holds the ram in place and protects them. On the back of the "box" you can read about some awards Supertalent memory has won. If we look at the ram we got a 7-7-7-21 latency which is quite high and the ram is specified for 1800 Mhz which is VERY high so lets see what we can do to the latency at higher speeds.

On the ram stiscks a bit ProjectX logo is printed and on the other side of the ram you got a small stick that tells you what type of ram it is along with latency and speeds.

The heatsinks on the ram look a bit different than standard. On the top they are leaning to the side, I do not know if this works better at this stage but I hope to find out later in the review.

Testing:

Intel QX6700 CPU
Asus P5K3 Deluxe
Supertalent ProjectX 2GB DDR3-1800 Memory Kit
Asus 8600 GT
Maxtor 80GB HDD
Zalman 460W PSU

We will be comparing this ram kit vs Corsairs latest DDR3 kit Twinx3x2048-1600. The following software was used during our testing phase, Sisoft Sandra X1, Everest Home Edition, Pcmark2005, and SuperPi. Overclocking was done both in bios and with the AI software provided with the Asus motherboard.
