Superflower Fanmaster (SF-609)

This seems to be the nicest fan controller we have reviewed after having a quick look at it but will it be able to pass our testing on the test bench. Yes, tonite we have a fan controller here at Rbmods and it was sent to us by Superflower and it's called "Fanmaster". Let's have a closer look and see if the Fanmaster will be our choice of fan controllers.

This is a very nice box that the fan controller came in and on the back of the box we found a few features that this product has.

Inlcuded with the fan controller is also extension cables for your fans, zip ties, screws, and some thermal sensors (4 of them) that you can mount anywhere in the case. A nice feature is the possibility to change the frontpanel and it's available in 5 different colors so at least one of them should match your case :)

Here we have the fan controller itself and it has a very nice silver finish. This is the front that is on when you get it but it's very easy to change with the tool that is included. The display is pretty big for a fan controller I have to admit. Under the display we find 3 buttons which are called T, F, C.

Button T (T stands for temperature): Press this button to choose temperature sensors displayed. There are four sensors: CPU, HDD, Case and Power Supply. (Default is CPU)

Button F (F stands for Fan): Press this button to choose fans for control: Fan 1, Fan 2, Fan 3 and Fan 4. (Default is Fan 1)

Button C (Cstands for color): Press this button to choose the LCD backlight colors. There are 7 color choices. You may also set it in Auto or Off mode. In Auto mode, the colors will be automatically changed every three seconds. (Default is Red).

Button T + Button F. After you press both buttons for 3 seconds, the digits of temperature will be blinking. Then you can adjust the alarm temperature of the current sensor point by Button T (increase) and Button F (decrease). After 3 seconds of your adjustment it will be memorized automatically while the digits stop blinking. Your adjustment will be saved even after you reboot your PC. In addition, you can press Button T to the next temperature sensor for adjustment.

When you press Button T and Button C at the same time for 3 seconds all of your custom settings will be cleared and returned to default. (CPU=65 degrees Celsius, HDD=55 degrees Celsius, CASE=45 degrees Celsius, POWER=99 degrees Celsius)

Pressing Button C for 3 to 5 seconds: You can switch Celsius to Fahrenheit. You can also switch it to the default setting by repeating it (Default is Celsius.)

If any of the sensors temperature goes beyond setting an alarm will sound automatically with the temperature digits blinking. The alarm will stop after 20 seconds but the digits temperature readout will continue blinking until the problem is fixed.

If any fan fails or fans speed goes lower than 600 R.P.M., the fan number will blink and alarm will sound. The alarm will stop after 20 seconds but fan number readout will continue blinking until fixed.

Please do not unplug the power connector on the rear panel. Otherwise you might damage this product. Warranty will be voided if the power connector on the panel is unplugged.

The knobs look plastic but they feel like a higher quality. They almost feel like they are aluminum coated; not that they actually are- but still :) On the sides we have the screw holes for mounting and this should fit any case.
