SteelSeries S&S Professional Gaming Mouse Pad
It's not uncommon today for hardcore gamers to pump out $100 dollars on a mouse catered towards them. They offer everything from higher dpi, and more buttons to on the fly adjustments. But, are you going to get all of your money out of that brand new mouse when you're still using some foam mouse pad or maybe even your desk surface.
Today for review SK Gaming has sent us their steelpad S&S professional gaming mouse pad. This pad claims to feature an improved surface that will provide higher accuracy and precision while playing your favorite FPS. Can a mouse pad really make a difference... read on and find out.

The SteelPad S&S solo is identical to the regular SteelPad S&S - except for the fact that the SteelPad S&S solo doesn't include a protective nylon sleeve.
SteelPad S&S has been developed in cooperation with SK-Gaming, one of the world's front figures in eSport. The "S&S" stands for "Steel & SK-Gaming".
The SK.swe team (which helped develop the SteelPad S&S) went thru more than 200 different surface adjustments, before they were fully satisfied with the product.

The packaging is simple; the entire mouse pad is encased in plastic with a cardboard sleeve wrapped around it. There is some general information about the mouse pad on the front. On the back, various clans and players such as Team 3D and HeatoN give their opinions about the pad.

The mouse pad itself is fairly large, 12-2/3” (320mm) x 10-2/3” (270mm). It is squared with round edges and a slight curvature inward for where your wrist is placed. The mouse surfaced is textured almost like a fine grain sand paper, designed to give you the both the most precise accuracy with your mouse, as well as easy movement. The back almost looks like rubber was melted and splattered on; it provides excellent grip so you're mouse pad won't be sliding around

Included with the mouse pad are feet to actually place over the existing ones on your mouse. They are applied in seconds are should provide an even better over all feel.

In this image you can really get a feel for the size of the steelpad over all. It dwarfs my MX510 compared to most standard mouse pads.
For testing I messed around with a few different surfaces for my mouse; my normal foam pad with a wrist rest (I've used/gamed with this for years), a vinyl textured surface mouse pad, the laminate surface of my desk and then the steelpad.
Once I got to the steelpad and loaded up DoD, I immediately noticed a difference. I played a few rounds, adjusted my sensitivity to my liking and played. The precision I got while using the steelpad was way more than I expected. It actually took a map or two to get used to it, but once I tweaked everything and got the feel for it, it was awesome. The increase in precision was, as I said, noticed immediately. With the size of the steel pad, I'm not forced to pick my mouse up and re-center it constantly (huge plus for players who love to use a low sensitivity). The only downside I can see is if you have a small area for your keyboard and mouse, which I do.
Conclusion:
The steelpad S&S is an excellent choice for any FPS player out there. I was never one to really think that a mouse pad could make that much of a difference; but, even when using my old MX510 the seemingly easier movement and increased precision was amazing. While it will most likely take a little time just to get used to, you won't regret making the switch to this incredible mouse pad.

+ Excellent response with the mouse
+ Big enough for even players with the lowest sensitivity
+ Great desk contact surface, it will not slide around
