SilenX 400w <14 dBA iXtrema PSU

Tonite we are having a look at a power supply from Silenx. They are pretty well known by now since they make alot of silent products. They sent us their 400W silent PSU which is supposed to run under 14dB. We are going to compare it to a Zalman PSU that we reviewed awhile ago and gave out recommendations for. Maybe this Silenx PSU will take over the throne as the best PSU reviewed at R&B so stay tuned.

The power supply came very well packed in a box even though I did not take a picture of it :) Included with the power supply we have a power cable. On top of the power supply we have a sticker with the voltages.
18A at the 12V is very good.

This PSU is equipped with one fan in the back. They have opened up the case of the power supply by making a "grill" to get the heat out of the PSU as we can see on the right picture. You can use this PSU in Europe and in America as we can see on the red switch. Remember to switch it over to the voltage for the country where you are. Personally I have forgotten once and it made a big bang :)

The connectors are pretty standard as you get 6 molex, 2 floppy and the ATX connector and ofcourse the P4 connectors.
