Razer Piranha Headset Review

As we can see the headset is alot smaller than the ones from Sennheiser or Koss as an example. The speaker parts are padded and they are flexible so they move depending on the shape of your ears to make it as comfortable as possible. Personally for my ears these headphones feel a bit to small as I like the ones that cover the ear. These make my ears ache after an hour or so but that can be solved by just moving the them to a different position.

If you want the volume controller and the headphones to lit up you have to install the USB connector. If you don't have one to use it is not a problem since the headphones and mic still work. The leds are more of a coolness thing in this case.

Testing:

Now I have ran these headphones with various genres and and volumes and something that amazes me is that even with an old mp3 and low quality, sounds good with the headphones. I think that the sound is similar to a real pair of Sennheiser headphones. The sound is crystal clear and both high and lows, tune up a fast techno song and the bass have no problems following along with the fast pace.

I gave the microphone a shot in the latest Ventrilo version while playing World Of Warcraft. My fellow gamers said that the mic is alot better than my table mic which is a digital mic from Logitech. They said that the sound is very clear and that the is no real background noise. I was suprised to hear this as a digital mic like the Logitech I got should be alot better removing noise and keeping a clear sound. Overall extremely clear sound from the mic as promised.

Conclusion:

You can get this headset for around 80$ which is to bad if we compare to other well performing headsets on the market. I think that this is a high quality headset where it is easy to slide the mic to the side or to bend it away from your face for awhile. The volume controller also allows you to mute the mic with a button which makes it very good for even VOIP communication. The only real con that I can see is that they feel a bit to small for my ears, note that this is how I feel and it might perfect on your ears. I will be using these for when I play games online though due to the great sound quality that I get from them. They are also cat safe and you don't have to worry about running over the cable with your chair since the cable is sleeved.

Pros:

+ Very nice looking
+ High quality
+ Good sound quality
+ Long cable
+ Sleeved cable

Cons:

- Uncomfortable after 1 hour
