Pclincs Thermochill heat 120,1 heat exchanger
Watercooling products are always fun to review since you always have tons of work with them :)
Tonight we have the Thermochill heat 120.1 radiator on the test bench. We will be comparing this baby to the popular BlackIce Extreme radiator temps and have a closer look
on the construction.

Specifications on the product:
ThermoChill HE120.1 high performance Heat Exchanger.
Copper / brass construction with turn coat shrouds.
3/8"BSPT inserts to allow the radiator to be used with any existing bore setup. e.g. 3/8"OD & ID, 1/2"OD & ID etc. Appropriate fittings avaiable elsewhere on the PCLincs website.
Unique dual fan shroud gives total air seal, no loss air as with other designs.
Pre-punched shroud holes for perfect hole alignment!
Radiator can run 2 x 120mm fans in push / pull config or one side of shroud can be used for mounting.
9mm shroud standoff to minimise dead zone.
Unique silver soldered bleed inserts for bleeding off collected air & maintaining performance.
Overall dimensions HxWxD = 172x124x50mm.
Radiatior ships with single side fan screws & a spare bleed washer.
Capable of dissipating 250W of heat at a 10°C coolant / air differential, more if differential is increased.
0.039°C/W

The radiator came really well packed in bubble wrap and after looking closely at it I saw there was no scratches or anything on the surface so it was well protected.
It comes in this mat black color which looks really good. You get some screws for the 120 mm fans that can be mounted on this radiator.

3/8"BSPT inserts to allow the radiator to be used with any existing bore setup. e.g. 3/8"OD & ID, 1/2"OD & ID etc. Appropriate fittings have to be bought at Pclincs site, which is pretty bad since
alot of people might not think of this.... 4 holes perfectly made to fit a 120 mm fan on each side of the radiator.

On the left we have the bottom of the radiator and on the right the backside.
Testing:
AMD XP 2200+
MSI K7N2G-ILSR
512 mb Corsair 3200 DDR
60 GXP IBM 60 gig harddrive
Geforce 4 MX
Artic Silver 3
Liteon 16x cd burner
GMC Neo classic case
Power Cooler 120mm fan, 27.73dBa, 57CFM in radiator
Room temprature was around 25 celsius and the case had no case fans installed. Temperatures were taken with a program found on the MSI cd.
As we can see they are really close in temperatures. Beneath we see a graph with some of the overclocking results as we had the cpu at 2500+ and at 1.9V
As we can see the BlackIce and the Thermochill are really close in temperatures. Remember that these temps are taken with my room temp and etc.
What plays into the temps then? Room temperature is a big part, and of course where the computer is located, etc etc.... Remember that the fan decides alot of the temperatures also so get some good fans
with a good air/noise ratio for the best performance or just get some 120 mm delta fans and go deaf :).
The Thermochill cost around 60$ which is around 30$ cheaper than a BlackIce radiator although you have to buy the fittings also so you end up with a price around 65$ which is still alot cheaper than the BlackIce.
COnclusion:
This is a good radiator with good cooling capabilities. You get alot for your money and still pay less than for a Blackice extreme.
You need to buy fans and fittings for this radiator so get some good quality fans from the beggining to get the maximum cooling capabilties.
I really did enjoy this raditor since it's a high quality radiator with a nice mat black color to match the rest of my case atleast :)
All in all it gets 4 out of 5 from us at rbmods.com for a cheap radiator with good cooling capabilites.
Pros:
+ Cheap
+ Good cooling capabilities
+ High quality
