OCZ Mini Kart 1Gb Flash drive

As the drive is almost just the usb connector it almost dissapears when you have connected it to your computer. When active a small blue led shines in the back of the drive. It's time for us to do some testing and see how it can perform vs other fast flash drives. Remember though that OCZ never claimed this to be a speedster as they focused mainly on the size.

Testing:

Intel P4 3,8 Ghz 800mhz
MSI 955X Platinum
MSI 7800 GTX
A-data DDR2
Maxtor 80Gb 7200 RPM
OCZ Powerstream 520W

We ran the tests in Sisoft Sandra 2006 with the flash memory benchmark program.

As we can see there is quite a difference in speed between the drives according to Sisoft Sandra but I have to admit I personally do not need a faster drive than this as size matters when it comes to a flash drive. I did not find any heat issues or stability problems during testing of this drive.

Conclusion:

This flash drive is not the fastest on the market but it sure is the smallest and that is what counts in my eyes. You can get this little baby up to 2GB which is quite abit for this small size. You almost forget that you carry this around as it's so small and lightweight. I am glad they have mounted a small holder for example on to a keychain so you don't lose it. I have not had any stability nor heat issues during testing so the drive has behaved very well. I want to give this little gadget 5 out of 5 and our recommendations for everyone that is in the market for a very very small drive.

Pros:

+ Extremly small
+ Well packed
+ Comes with up to 2GB space
+ Easy to use and install

Cons:

- Speed (even thoug its not marketed as a fast drive)

Red&Blackness gives it 5 out of 5 dots
