OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Platinum SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel Memory
More demanding games and software forcees the hardware manufacturers to make faster products, of course the ram is an important part of the computer and today we will review one of these memory kits from OCZ. Their memory has performed extremely well in our previous tests and it will be interesting to see if this new PC2-8500 Platinum kit can do the same. We are going to compare it vs another OCZ kit in both normal use and overclocking to see how well this one does.

The memory comes in a standard OCZ package, which is a see through plastic cover so to say. Inside you have a sall folder which shows how to install the ram, and on the back of it there are quotes from a few awards they have won for their ram in the past. As always with OCZ this ram kit comes with a lifetime warranty, it costs a bit more than others but the warranty makes it worth it since you will be able to get a new kit in case they break in 5 years just as an example.

The memory is equipped with OCZ Platinum XTC heatspreaders, which in the middle have a big "Z" which stands for OCZ I believe. On each stick you will also find a small sticker that explains what ramsticks you have. Do not remove these stickers as you will void the liftime warranty. We can see that we have a two 1Gb memory sticks that are SLI ready and run at 5-5-5-15 timings.
