OCZ PC2-8000 Titanium Alpha VX2 Dual Channel
Overclocking:
It was interesting to see how this ram kit would perform with the older P4 processors, we tested this with both a 2.8 and a 3.8 GHz. The test results are taken with the 2.8 GHz. As the chart below shows we had some nice progress with overclocking even though I have seen sites that have been able to push this ram kit up to 280. I know though for a fact that we were limited to our motherboard and processor and with a AM2 setup (should have within a few weeks) we would have been able to go up quite a bit more. We can see though that 260FSB compared to 200 makes quite a difference on the SuperPi runs. We raised the voltage to the cpu abotu 0.7V and to the ram 0.3V to be able to archieve these results. They were all SuperPi stable and 270FSB crashed Windows for us. With a better motherboard and cpu we could have raised the voltage more and archieved better results as we will do with our AM2 setup.

Latency:
The latency for the kit is the following from start, CL 4-4-4-15 (CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS). We did a few shots to try to lower these and at 230FSB we were able to lower them to 4-4-4-9 and at 240 we had them at 4-4-4-10. At stock speeds on the other hand we had a few good bootups with 3-4-4-9 but lower than that we were not able to go.
Conclusion:
I am quite satisfied with the results we could achieve with this product. It is extremely stable I have to admit that even at higher FSB it is able to perform which is quite suprising. The heatsink design that OCZ has put on their new ram kits really shows that they do good as their kits perform better these days. I have said it before and I will say it again, "perfection" I can't think of any other words really. I am not able to see any flaws with this product more than the price itself around 380$ USD, but as with all high end products the price is always high and if you want to stay in the game be prepared to pay for it also. If you think this kit is to much for you or cost way to much you can click on this link and search for other OCZ products through Shopping.com
Overall I want to give this product 5 out of 5 and our recommendations for a extremely well performing memory kit that is THE ram kit you will need for your future computer rig.
Pros:
+ Fast
+ Stays cool
+ Stable
