The NZXT Cryo LX Notebook cooler arrived in a sturdy, well-packaged box with a nice picture of the cooler on the front. You might notice that my package is a little dirty; that’s because the cooler was shipped as-is as opposed to inside another box. The back of the package has a detailed list of features and specifications. As you can read on the front, this cooler claims to be the largest full aluminum cooler.

Opening up the package, the cooler is securely held in-place by a two custom foam inserts and sealed in a sturdy plastic bag. Along with the cooler, the package comes with a power cable with a USB connector and another USB cable.

Taking a closer look at the cooler, the first thing you can’t help but notice is its size; it is definitely a large cooler. The cooler has a matte black finish and a three large rubber pads on both sides and the bottom that lift up the computer for better air flow and cooling. The cooler folds in half to provide a smaller footprint when in storage. The only thing I thought was missing from the cooler was the ability to adjust the height, though looking at the design I’m not sure how you could do that.

Flipping the cooler over, there are actually three 120mm fans that provide the airflow for the cooler, which is more than any notebook cooler I’ve seen. The fans are hidden behind a nice black metal mesh grid. There are also large rubber feet on the bottom of the cooler to provide a sturdy base that won’t scratch your desk.
