The NZXT Avatar Gaming Mouse arrived in a sleek cardboard package with a picture of the mouse on the front. The back of the package provides a list of features in multiple languages. One of the more impressive stats of this mouse is the sensitivity range of 650 to 2600 dpi, which is on-par with some of the top gaming mice in the business.

Opening the front cover of the package, we find a clear plastic window displaying the mouse and a picture of all the features on the mouse. Removing the contents from the packaging, we find the mouse, an installation CD, and an instruction manual. As you can see, this mouse is a wired mouse, which is typical of most gaming mice, as the cord allows for faster response and eliminates potential lag.

Taking a closer look at the mouse, the first thing I noticed was that it’s designed for both left and right handers (ambidextrous), as opposed to other popular gaming mice that are designed specifically for right handers. Personally, I like the feel of right-handed mice better than the ambidextrous kind, but again it’s a matter of personal preference.

The top of the mouse has the scroll wheel and two macro buttons. The scroll wheel has a nice click and rotates well. To the left of the top surface are 3 LEDs that indicate what the sensitivity of the mouse is set at. This is a nice feature; I like how you can glance quickly at the mouse to determine what setting it’s at. The top surface has a rubberized finish, which is great if you have sweaty palms.
