Noctua NH-U12P CPU Cooler Review
A while back, we had a chance to check out the latest CPU cooler from Noctua, a well-known maker of high quality cooling products. Noctua didn’t stop with just one CPU cooler; rather, they made a slightly larger version that accommodates 120mm fans. Will the Noctua NH-U12P CPU cooler prove that bigger is better? Let’s find out.

Like most Noctua products, the Noctua NH-U12P CPU cooler came in a colorful package in the Noctua color scheme, with a window providing a view of the product on the front. The sides of the package provide a list of the features/specifications. One thing to note is that this cooler is compatible with both Intel and AMD CPUs, adding to the versatility of the product.

Opening the package, we find cooler well-packaged in a custom cardboard insert that holds the product well and protects from any shipping damage. Along with the cooler itself, the package comes with mounting brackets, instruction manual, and a tube of Noctua’s NT-H1 thermal compound (which we found to be a good-quality compound). Many of the accessories are the same as the NH-U12P.

Looking more closely at the cooler, we find a fairly standard 4 dual heat pipe system in a U-type design. The cooler looks very much like the NH-U12P, only much larger. I like the clean-looking stainless-steel finish of the cooler. Obviously, with this larger size cooler, you might be limited to the size of the case; this cooler probably wouldn’t fit in a small form-factor case.
