Nexus SFM-1000 Vibration Absorbers Review
Looking to complete a silent PC build and eliminate as much noise as possible, yet still retain some cooling ability? Often times, case fans can contribute a significant amount of noise, since they are on the outside and usually secured with larger screws that transmit vibration. Nexus, makers of a wide variety of noise-reducing products, has released a new product, the SFM-1000 Case Fan Vibration Absorbers, which offer a different way to secure the fan that helps eliminate the noise. Can they get the job done? Let’s find out.
About Nexustek:
Nexus Technology BV was established in 2000 in the Netherlands by a group of experts on heat conductivity and noise reduction in the computer industry. The founders have build up an in depth knowledge and experience on heat conductivity issues and thermal characteristics by working closely with many of the larger pc manufacturers for several years.
The idea to have a full line of high quality computer components to improve the working environment by reducing noise levels brought the founders together. Continuously developing products to reduce noise levels and consequentially improve heat conductivity and airflow. Our goal:
Building a strong and reliable trademark for silent computing.

The Nexus SFM-1000 Case Fan Vibration Absorbers arrived in a tiny package smaller than a deck of cards. The front displays the absorbers prominently, and the back has a few product highlights. The package comes with 4 absorbers.

Opening up the package, the absorbers are easily removed. They are designed similarly to other absorbers on the market. They might look a bit odd, but the long end is needed so that you can pull the absorber from the exposed end of the fan. The absorbers are made out of silicon, which is a very soft material and is used in a variety of vibration-reducing applications.

Installing the absorbers onto the fan is fairly simple; basically, remove the fan from the case and secure the absorbers to the case. Next, slide the fan onto the absorbers and pull the end as you push the fan on, allowing the absorbers to “hook” onto the fan.
I’ll admit that my test setup is not a silent PC by any means, and installing these absorbers onto the case didn’t reduce the noise by any appreciable mean. Plus, nowadays case fans are pretty well balanced such that they don’t contribute a lot of vibration. But if you’re going for a completely silent build, these absorbers will likely do the trick.
Conclusion:
The Nexus SFM-1000 Vibration Absorbers are a simple and easy to install product that will help any silent PC build. If you’re looking to eliminate all noise and suspect the vibration from the case fan is the problem, then these little guys should do the trick. However, if you’re not building a silent PC, then you probably won’t notice the difference.
Pros:
+ Easy to install
+ Made of silicon
Cons:
- Hard to tell a difference unless your build is silent
