Jays D-jays earphones

Jays is a fairly new company on the headphone market and they have started to compete with bigger companies like Koss and Sennheiser just to mention a few. One of the owners is Jens Nylander which is also the owner of www.jensofsweden.com a company that sells mp3 players. Who would know earphones better than him? Well I am hoping he has put his knowledge along with his collagues to use and manufactured nice earphones, as today we will take a closer look on these earphones in several ways in our daily usage of earphones.

About Jays:

The number of sold portable media players will increase up to 1 billion units per year in 2009 according to a research report from IDC. Bundled earphones will rarely match the qualitative sound that these units can produce. Neither will these earphones offer wanted features nor have the good quality and durability that the customer need. This is due to the fact that the cost for pre bundled accessories is generally held down.

JAYS, a Swedish privately owned registered company and international trademark specializes in designing, developing and marketing high quality earphones for an increased listening experience. JAYS first product d-JAYS reduces background noise and offer superior sound together with a comfort and durability that is unique. d-JAYS use micro armature technology originally based on a patent from 1914 by Henry Egerton, and today used in products for artists world wide.

A strong engineering team, highly creative and artistic Swedish designers and solid market knowledge are JAYS core strengths. This together with passion for music, and the belief that the customers want to get more out of their portable media players is the foundation that enables the company to deliver highly innovative and challenging quality products.

JAYS AB is based in Västerås with subsidiaries in San Fransisco and Hong Kong.

I quote this from jays.se "So don’t get stuck with those mediocre earphones bundled with your player – Get the right sound!". That is the truth these days, with pretty much all mp3 players you get crap earphones and you end up buying something better. I have read the specifications and features on these headphones and they seem a bit better, but are they really?

The package looks great, it's a nice black box with a few small holes made so you can see the earphones themselves. On the back of the box you can read about the features and specifications on these specific earphones. If you look close on the right picture you can also see the different sizes on the sleeves included.

The headphones are packed in a plastic cover. Inside you will find a manual which explains how to use the earphones and how to change the sleeves. You also get three different sized sleeves so in total you have four different sized sleeves. The cord on these earphones is quite short so there is an extending cable, this is good since alot of people prefer short cables but they also offer a longer extension cable for people like me.

The sleeves come packed in a small plastic container, these silicone rubber sleeves are awesome in your ear. The mounted sleeves fit my ear perfectly but my wife needed smaller ones so it's good there are different sizes. The earphones are very small , they don't weigh anything and on top of things they do look good.
